How long do I need to use Mederma Stretch mark cream?

I am considering buying the new mederma cream for stretch marks. Does anyone know if this is something that you use until you are happy with the results and then stop, or will stretch marks return? In other words, is this cream or other stretch mark creams something you have to use consistently, long-term in order to work the best?
